***NYU Regular Decision Class of 2021 Discussion***

kb23345 Curious which school you picked?

Can anyone on this forum comment on their art portfolio successfully submitted to Steinhardt? Awards won with it, outside art classes taken to help with it, etc.

Go to Barnard!!! It’s an Ivy League school (undergraduate of Columbia University). You get world class education AND are in NYC! Tons of internship and networking opportunities. Everyone is super international and cosmopolitan. Plus, Barnard women get degrees from Columbia U, take classes at CU, and join clubs/ sports teams/ sororities/ societies at CU. Campus and academic buildings are all shared too. Acceptance rate this year is 14.8%, very selective. You won’t ever regret choosing Barnard College of Columbia University. Most people at Barnard got into all of those schools you listed as well

FYI, a few days ago, NYU released its admission data for the class of 2021.
Its NYC campus saw an acceptance rate fall to 27% from 35% a year ago, the lowest number.
A record high # applications at more than 67,000 for all campuses combined.

No concrete data available for ED acceptance. But should be a little higher than RD accept rate.

@camwow @PAwind98 I should really stop snooping on the 2021 page but here I am again. I don’t drink, and it’s had 0 impact on my social life. Most of my friends drink and a lot of the times I end up in situations where everyone is drunk but me, but they never force me to drink or anything like that. Also, I know for a fact you can find other people who don’t drink at all if it’s important to you! In fact, there’s an entire substance free housing floor that I would recommend if that’s the community you want.

sorry if this question has already been asked or if this is not an appropriate place to ask this, but um people who are going to the weekends on the square and don’t live around NY, are you paying for all your flight tickets and hotel fee?
I live in west coast and have to fly there if I go, but then where do I stay? Do I just book a hotel or inn or something?

@chipotleeveryday At this point, it’s a little late to recommend an AirBnB, but if you could find one of those it would be much cheaper than a hotel. NYC hotels have a reputation for being very expensive and small; try contacting NYU because they have “discounts” for local hotels, but idk if those are strictly for matriculated students/family or not.

Personally, I’m taking a Megabus overnight, both ways, so I don’t have to worry about where to sleep.

Has anyone gotten an email saying there has been a change to their financial aid package? I got one this morning, andI got a CAS scholarship that basically covers tuition. Still too expensive, but nice!

Could someone post the groupme and Facebook page links please??

^For the Class of 2021 btw

If anyone wants the Discord for Tandon students, let me know

Hi everyone. There appears to be a change in my financial aid packet. When the packet initially went out, I had Pell Grant, but it is no longer included. What should I do??? Really concern :frowning:

Hey guys. I was recently give admission to the Liberal Studies Program from the waitlist. I accepted the offer and paid the $1500 deposit for both enrollment and housing. I since then haven’t received any other information, and my admission decision has disappeared from my applications status. However, on ‘My Academics’, it says I was approved and am an undergraduate at the Global Liberal Studies Program. Does anyone know what I should do next?
