***NYU Regular Decision Class of 2021 Discussion***

I’m actually looking forward to what type of sentence they use the word “sorry” in for the rejection notice. I want to make a collage of all the rejections I got this year lol. Also, does anyone have any suggestions other than eating ice cream for coping with all of this because I’m kinda getting tired of eating ice cream every time I get a college notice whether good or bad.

@lianyuanjiexx Don’t worry about being mean to me, it doesn’t bother me. I’m not going to argue with you, because there is no way for me to explain to you how much getting in to NYU would mean to me and why I’m soo concerned about these things. There’s just no way to do justice to that. You can call it nonsense, and I really hope you’re right, but this is something that has been proven to have a strong correlation with the outcome with one’s application in previous years. It just hasn’t been discussed as much in this year’s thread. However, if you chose to believe that this is all nonsense, be my guest.

@SternAspirations I’m so confused … can you post a screenshot of what you have for the FA thing, then tell me how you think it might look different if you weren’t rejected …

@soulpup sure. I don’t know how to put in the screenshot, but follow the link below to see a picture of what it looks like when you do have the FA change to include the year (what I belive, but hope isn’t true, correlates with acceptance). Give me a second to find a link that shows what it looks like if you haven’t had the change. Essentially, it just says “award access not available” and there’s no year “2018” anywhere. @SternAspirations google NYU ED Class of 2021 page 85. Don’t worry about changes according to the thread.

@Pugslife I know! It just seems to me like so many things are different for ED applicants. I’m looking at the RD thread from last year, so stay tuned if you wanna see if this “rule” held true last year. It MAY have changed this/last year. GOSH I really want to be wrong, but we’ll see - I’m looking at that right now, but it’s almost 150 pages so please excuse the fact that I’m a bit slow.

@SternAspirations Thanks. So my page has the aid year as “2018” but still says “Award access not available.” On the link you sent, it describes the FA change as the status description changing to “No self-service access for this aid year.” I have the year “2018”, but I don’t have that message. So I have no idea what this all means.

@soulpup I believe that it is a very good sign if you have the year “2018” in it. I’m looking at this right now, so please don’t hold me accountable if you don’t get in or anything, but I really do think that it is a fenomenal sign if you have the year. I’m not an admissions officer so I can’t guarantee anything obviously, but I believe that I have enough reasons to belive this strongly.

have you guys read anything about being able to put down a deposit for fall housing in previous threads? which ones? thanks

How do I even check the housing portal?? Pls help

@SternAspirations I’d never hold you or anyone accountable if I don’t get in. I think it’s interesting looking for these glitches, so no argument from me. I’ll just assume I’m rejected unless I hear otherwise. Hope it works out for you!

@ktf1117 go to https://housing.nyu.edu. Nothing has changed there for me.

@soulpup thank you, and I wish you (and anyone reading this) the best of luck! :slight_smile:

It says summer 2017…is that good or bad?

@ktf1117 I don’t think it indicates anything at all.

is there a way to check what school my s applied to? In the portal under application status it only states New York City.

@ktf1117 Same for me.

Does everyone have the students tab?

@oviandhisbros nope, I don’t
