How much, if at all, does NYU take geography into consideration? Do they put a lot of emphasis on whether the student comes from an over- or under-represented state/country?

@charcoalatey2021 I don’t think they take geography into consideration. Sometimes they don’t even have students from all 50 states.
@charcoalatey2021 In an ideal world they would want to have students from every state, but if the applicants aren’t qualified they won’t be accepted. Mostly they take into consideration the school you attended by looking at your school profile. As for students from other countries: they are need-aware, so if a particular international student is an average applicant but needs a lot of aid to attend, NYU likely won’t admit them. Mostly though, geography isn’t really a concern. The AdCom wants to admit the most qualified applicants, and state or country of residence isn’t really a qualification.

the night before Bostons decisions came out i didn’t sleep. the email came in a little after 7am but the results were available 10 minutes before 7am.
