NYU regular decision class of 2024!

Hi guys, I’m from India applying to NYUAD for ED 2.
I have a 1420 in the SAT , 800 in M2…My high school grades are all A’s with good extracurriculars .I really think my SAT is going to pull me down :frowning:

What are my chances of getting in?

Does anyone know if NYU’s binding statement “If you are awarded a financial aid package that does not meet enough of your financial need to allow you to attend. In this case, you may request to be released from the agreement.” means that you are only allowed to be released from the bind if you are completely unable to pay tuition (as in income is less than tuition)?
My family earns more than tuition… if I get in ED2 but don’t receive the financial aid I want, do you think I would be able to get out of it?

@applehealth Yes, if it’s not financially feasible to attend, you can back out of the ED agreement. I know I friend who got in NYU ED1 this year and had to deny the offer because it’s too expensive. Generally, however, if finances are a big factor, it’s advised against doing ED, especially to a school like NYU

@dreamingnyc I agree- NYU is notorious for its poor financial aid. After talking to my parents about this, we’ve decided that it’s best to just RD and see how much financial aid they will be offering and which scholarships I’ll be eligible for. Now time to finish up my apps to turn in before jan 1st! I’m just gonna have to make up for the 10% increased acceptance rate that comes with ED with a better supplement haha

RD applicant here for NYC. Anyone know what the EDI acceptance rate was this year?

I’m pretty sure last year it was 31% for EDI&II combined and 17% for RD.

^ last year was 16% overall, RD would have been something like 11-12%.
I haven’t seen any numbers at all for ED this year, including what the total number of ED applicants was.

Wait… I’m confused as to whether NYU superscores the SAT or not?? I thought they did, but then I was reading online and I couldn’t really tell

Yes they do, not sure what you read but their own page says they do (with the exception of those who submit scores from old and new SAT tests). https://www.nyu.edu/admissions/undergraduate-admissions/how-to-apply/standardized-tests.html

D20 has decided, last minute, to apply to NYU’s Tisch School, for directing. She’s directing 2 plays this year in HS, and is really loving it. So, although she’s applying as a math major at every other school, she decided to explore this avenue at NYU.

Her stats: 3.9 wgpa, 1470 sat, lots of theater experience, music (piano, violin, voice)

It’s a long shot, but she’s going for it!

Hey! I applied RD to the Global Liberal Studies program! Does anyone know how many students are in this program every year and how selective is it?

Applied to NYU Tandon, is it selective?

@yw123 what are your stats and what major have you applied to?
I would say it’s getting more selective each year but is a lot easier to get into in comparison to other NYU colleges.

I’m an A-Level student,
6As 4As GCSE
5 As at AS
5A
s predicted a level

Is meyers easier or harder to get into? I applied RD global public health nursing.

Same here !!!

@isabelmars17 I haven’t heard of a lot of people applying, good luck to us both!

Extracurriculars (after school) are Badminton CLUB (not team). Other extracurricular include volunteering at library (100+ hours still ongoing), 90 hours at Pre-K/summer program, a job at tutoring school as Teacher Assistant.

Wrote my essay on how anime is a big part of me (or was but I didn’t include this last statement), and how I learned to be more like “unbiased or hateful” for other people and it changed me to become a more outgoing and confident (i guess) person.

I wrote my NYU Sup about why I want to even do nursing and basically how I would help my family when they grow older and the opportunities at NYU.

Please chanceme!

Hey !! Do any of you guys know if they require mid year transcripts for senior year ? Because I sent mine

@yw123 which major are you applying to?
