Waitlisted for Tisch, even after attending the summer college program
Congrats everyone else!
@DoggyLuver while you are out in CA, shop for some class. Not sure where your arrogance comes from unless rejection makes you bitter towards others. It would be like me dissing your UCLA bc Stanford is in CA. Congrats to everyone acccepted to NYU and good luck to those waittlisted!
Son admitted to Stern School of Business, he need to decide now between UCLA and Stern, he is also admitted to UCI honor, UCSD, Northeastern honor, UW-Madision, BU, BC and IU-Kelly School of Business.
That form is it. It’s not an essay I just wouldn’t put it in bullet format lol. @caligirl2024
No.
@gorilla1000 No, you didn’t get into Stern, period, you got into NYU Shanghai.
You are not going to be able to go to “Stern” in Shanghai either, or try to sneak back to USA NY campus to attend Stern.

@sunfusong2002 great options! I worked in a bulge bracket IB firm on Wall Street. It’s probably just a matter of what coast your son wants to end up on. Does he want to work on Wall Street/Madison Ave, etc. for a few years and then maybe grad school in California or even stay in NYC? Or does he want to end up in California after undergrad? If that’s the case, UCLA.

On a related note, does anyone know if the Stern Scholarship was purely merit-based, as I doubt that I would get any need-based aid but I’m not sure? How many of these purely merit scholarships are awarded, or how rare is it?

I’m too lazy to list all my ECs but I’m involved in every business club/ program at my school and I’m involved with multiple community service orgs as well. I also did an internship at a local credit union.
i applied for stern at the ny campus but got into the shanghai campus instead. Is that better than just being waitlisted for stern ?
S accepted in Stern. 16k per year. stats in posting history. no hooks.
Currently comparing against JHU (Econ), USC (Marshall), Georgetown (SFS + MSB), UNC (Honors/Econ), and Duke (Econ), most with decent grants/scholarships. On 6-7 waitlists but probably will move forward with one of the current options. Georgetown program is pretty neat, but Stern was a dream pick, so it might be interesting.
I just got waitlisted from NYU, sadly. It is truly my dream school, and if I would hope to go there over any other school. To debunk the ‘hints’, in the housing portal I had both Spring 2020 and Summer 2020 (it did not say academic year or waitlisted undergraduate), and I also had the ability to put the $1000 deposit down. I hope this proves there are no true hints! Are there any tips to ensure that I get off of the waitlist, or should I lose hope and try to transfer next year?
