NYU requires 4 years of history but I might only take 3..

how much will this affect my chances of getting in?

And did I really only take three?

I am a junior in high school.
I took world history, US History I, and now be/c my last year teacher thought i was so advanced, I skipped US History II to take AP History (i am now the only junior in that class).
After AP History, there is no other history available in my school.
Is taking three hurting me?

I must note, I took a history course at a local college that was called History of Western Civilizations and I passed it. Does this count as a history if i apply?

Thank you.

please help

That would count as a history so you should be good.

^^yeah. pretty sure skipping a course shows up as credit on transcripts

Skipping a course without testing out of it probably wouldn’t count, but the college course probably would, provided you give the proper paperwork.

^^depends on the school really, skipping a course requires a large amount of time to study for it and learn the material.

Sorry to semi-hijack the thread but i have taken World history 1, Ap european history, and AP us history, next year i plan on taking AP Us gov. Would that mean i only have 3 history courses or 4. I am thinking of applying to NYU Stern school of business.

mope i didnt test out of it
they just let me skip based on my performance

^oh. that doesnt count then, but the college one does

Does AP Government count as a history or not, i have taken three history classes so far, Euro, US, and WRLD history 1 (not an elective), but i also did take the state standardized exam for WRLD history 2, so would that then count as a fourth history.

Why not just email NYU and ask…Keep their response for future reference.

i’ll try that
thanks :)
