NYU Scholars Weekend

I'm attending the Scholars Weekend later this month. Who else is going? What part of the US are you guys/gals heading from?

I should be attending, but I’m unfortunately leaving for Greece the morning of the 27th =[. But I will still be attending in April for Tisch admitted students =D.

Oh! Greece, that should be fun! Have a safe trip. Is NYU your first choice?

Yes!! =D So I’m extremely excited about all of this! How about you? What’s your major?

I was admitted to the Applied Psychology program (Steinhardt). I’m so excited! I wasn’t expecting a letter (especially one bearing good news) so soon from NYU. What about you?

I got into Tisch drama, not too sure which studio yet. I found out in mid-February when i got the offer of a NY Times Scholarship in addition to the MLK Scholars program. I totally did not expect anything until the 1st of April. Seriously. It’s pretty Crazy to think I got anything, let alone into the school.

Have any other RD Tisch Drama applicants heard anything at all???

Hey everyone!
I’m attending the Scholars weekend from California. NYU isn’t my top choice but I want to see/experience the campus before I rule anything out.
Also, does anyone know how competitive/selective the DEAN’S Scholar program is??? I got the presidential scholarship too and NYU said that one is for top 3-5% of incoming freshmen…but I can’t find any info on DEAN’S.
Thanks!

What do you make of this email I got? I’m guessing almost every applicant got it but the part that intrigues me is the one that says “a select group of applicants”, which contrasts to other emails they have sent clearly stating that they send those emails to ALL applicants.

Dear Jesus,

Hello and greetings from NYU Undergraduate Admissions!

Last week we notified all freshman applicants of upcoming deadlines and event dates for our admissions process. Now, we write to you - and only a select group of applicants - again to remind you of our events for accepted students:

April 9-11: Events on campus for accepted students. These events are by invitation only, and RSVP instructions will be sent only to accepted applicants.

April 17-18: Events off-campus in 13 cities across the US for accepted students. These events are by invitation only, and RSVP instructions will be sent only to accepted applicants.

While your decision packet will not be mailed for another 2 weeks, it might be a good idea for you to start checking into travel plans to visit campus.

We’ll be following up with more information for you as soon as our RSVP web site is open for event registration!

NYU Undergraduate Admissions

For the weekend in NYC April 9-11, do we stay in the dorms or do we have to provide our own hotel rooms, as well?

If you were going to get a scholarship, would you have been notified already? Did only the students who were invited to the Scholars Weekend get scholarships?

There are other scholarships that you’ll know about once you get your FA package.
