nyu scholarship?

i applied to nyu early decision II and got accepted.

did any of you guys get scholarship from nyu?

if its not out yet...do you know when they will notify it?

i might not be able to go if i dont get any scholarship from them....

i recently found out that they barely give you anything :'( so im really depressed...:(

When I went to check my financial aid award on Albert, it showed my scholarship money and my loans. Maybe the amount of scholarship money you receive differs between each NYU school. Maybe some schools are more generous than others? I was accepted to Steinhardt

Financial aid comes in the form of scholarships and grants. You can get one or the other, and in some cases both. Aid at NYU sucks in general, it’s never enough. It does vary a bit school to school but not as much as your candidacy. If you had a very strong application, you may have wound up with more grant money than others. If you had demonstrable financial need, your scholarships may have been larger than others. I have a bit of both and it still didn’t reach 50% of total expenses.

goddago, did you submit the FAFSA? That’s essential. Deadline is March 1.
When my daughter was accepted ED several years ago, we didn’t find out the complete and official financial aid package until the second week of April.

The deadline for FAFSA was actually Feb. 15th I believe.

dino, I think you are right 2/15 is the FAFSA filing deadline for incoming freshmen.

bonnie, Your 3/1 deadline for submitting FAFSA is also correct because you are referring to returning students, who have slightly more time than incoming freshmen for the FAFSA submission.

yes, i submitted everything in time…but when do you find out how much they’re giving you?

I just logged into Albert and checked my Financial Aid Year status…

Aid year totals of Offered is $55,540.00

and Accepted is 28,710.00

what does that mean?

and next to early decision work study, pell grant, perkins load, staffor, unsub, PLUS, says “Loan.”

Can someone tell what that means too…? :(…

sorry im so clueless…thanks in advance

I think it’s saying NYU will give you a low interest rate loan but you have to pay them back. They are giving you 28,000 but the rest ~30k you have to pay per year.
