Just got accepted as well! USA resident, honestly surprised to have been picked - I know 0 chinese and really just applied on a whim, but the more I look into it the better it seems.
Won’t be able to go to the china trip since I’ll be in Tokyo at that time, but is anyone going to the New York visit? I’d love to meet possible future classmates.

Admitted-USA!

Does anyone know what the acceptance rate ended up being? Or how many people were accepted from the US?

I got in! (US male) I’m so excited for the visit in April, anyone else going?

missalex, I’ll be in the New York for sure ;)

hm is there a facebook group where we can see each other’s faces?

Accepted from the US!!! I’ll be going to the New York one as well
what are all of your stats? I’m kind of surprised that I got in because my stats aren’t spectacular. My SAT is 2070/2090 superscored, 3.25 UW GPA (I go to a hard private school), with decent extra curriculars. I’m really curious as to how selective it was…I guess we’ll find out soon enough.

Has anyone who applied heard from NYU new york yet?

Just been accepted! Got the email this morning. c:

I thought I first needed to accept the admission offer to NYUShanghai prior to the trip…
Well, and I am still 17 and I guess that my parents’ permission will be required to obtain a Visa… and I don’t think it can happen… haha

CONGRATS YOU GUYS!!! so lucky! guess what? they didn’t send me an email
i was pretty sad for a moment, but then i thought “what if they accepted me to STERN instead?!”

yeah right. hahahaha.

but it makes sense since Stern is still first on my list and my FA has changed from “2014 New York University No financial aid data available” to “2014 New York University Award access not available.” do you guys think this is some kind of a good sign? okay i’m gonna stop rambling.

but anyway… CONGRATULATIONS AGAIN! i’m so happy for all of you :D

@bowtiesrcool, I was wondering about that too! I definitely think it’s a good sign, seeing as the financial aid change theory has proven true to basically everyone in the past. mine also says “award access not available” but that’s probably because of NYU shanghai. my first choice is stern, and it’s still listed as the first on my list…does anyone know if it’s one or the other? Like if I got into NYUSH does that mean I didn’t get into NYUNY? but yeah, good luck to all!! I can’t wait to meet everyone in april :)

@pyrasical so you haven’t gotten an email from NYUSH too? i don’t know about Stern, but i don’t think we’re going to get accepted to NYUSH since most people got their acceptances letter yesterday… i don’t want to be rejected from both schools! lol. still hoping that this “award acces not available” thing is an indicator that we have a slight chance to be accepted to Stern. but in another way, i don’t want to get my hopes up too…

@bowtiesrcool I got my acceptance email from NYUSH today, but I was wondering which school the financial aid change applies to since I applied to both. but hey, if you didn’t get into Shanghai, maybe you got into the New York campus! I want that more badly than Shanghai but I highly doubt I have the stats for stern…anyway, I bet it’s a good indicator that you got into at least one program at NYU.

@pyrasical aah i see, sorry, i just noticed your post on getting admitted. congrats!
i’m not sure but i heard that you only get to be accepted to 1 campus? correct me if i’m wrong though. i sure hope you’re right! my stats were super standard too so i really doubt i’ll get in but who knows!

I actually called NYU this morning and they said that NYU, NYUSH, and NYUAD are all considered separate entities. Getting into NYUSH (even if NYU is your top choice) does not indicate anything about your admission to NYU. Hopefully this information is accurate.

Hey guys, does anyone know if NYUSH offers merit scholarships?

@CSIHSIS Ahaha, ik! When I was going abroad a couple of years ago my passport was about to expire so I had to renew it back then as well. Thanks for the heads though!

@Oahm95 If it’s the Visa thing you’re worried about for being under 18 you’re absolutely fine as I had a Visa when I was 17. I think you just need your parents’ permission, yeah.

Lol that is basically the problem! Hey don 't u know if there is a facebook group?

@funkeicool I knew about that too but thanks for sharing anyway. If I’m not mistaken, thawowtso mentioned that she applied to both NYUSH and Stern but only heard back from NYUSH; so she didn’t get any letter from Stern whatsoever. Even though the admissions are said to be done separately, I can’t help but think if the campuses are ‘collaborating’ in selecting the accepted/rejected students.

If it helps, a friend of mine got accepted to both NYUNY and NYUSH. I don’t think NYU would lie/mislead potential students, but then again, we’ll only be able to see where we go once the letters are mailed out April 1.

Oh well then I’m just screwed! Hahaha. Still hoping that somehow I’ll get accepted to NYUNY though.
