NYU Sophomore –– Ask Me Anything

Hi! I know EDI decisions are looming, and EDII and RD applicants are finishing up their applications, so I figured I’d make a little AMA thread about NYU and all that jazz.

A little about me: I’m a sophomore in the Liberal Studies Core Program and will be transferring into Steinhardt’s MCC program. I’ve spent both my freshman and sophomore years at the NYC campus and studied abroad this past summer at NYU London. I’m involved with a few clubs and activities on campus, the most prominent being Greek life.

If you’d like me to chance you or want to discuss my admission and stats in detail, please PM me. Otherwise, ask me anything!

Bump.

@seeniebeenie I am an international applicant from Burma applying to NYU for ED II . My SAT score is 1110 and my TOEFL is 93. 20 for reading, 22 for speaking, 25 for listening and 26 for writing. I don’t really have the high Schl full courses and stuff because I skipped levels from grade six to grade 9. I have A in Math, B in physic, B in chemistry, B in Higher Math and C in my first language English. I attend a school that prepare me for GCSE. What do you think abt my chances

@dreamyday14 I don’t know anything about TOEFL or GCSE, so I can’t chance you. Plus, this isn’t a chancing thread.

@seeniebeenie I am sorry and thank you

I got into CAS 2021 and receive one of the worst financial aid packages I’ve ever seen. What can I do to ask for more?

@Hiitslawrence Congrats on your acceptance! Yeah, NYU’s financial aid is horrible. Unfortunately, there’s nothing you can do at this moment. There is an appeal process, but you’re only eligible to begin appealing after you’ve completed your first semester at NYU and then you have to keep re-appealing to keep any extra financial aid they give you.

@seeniebeenie I’m still gonna go anyway. I live in Queens, NY so NYU Financial Aid Office isn’t that far from me. What exactly should I bring and say?

I’m concerned about finding someone to cut my hair

Hi! I just got admitted in the Liberal Studies and I have chosen to study in London for my freshmen year. First of all which dorm of the two available is better? and how was the overall experience living in London like? I always wanted to visit London!

hey i got accepted into the liberal studies program, i was wondering if studying abroad was necessary. i would much rather prefer staying at the new york campus all four years honestly

What residence hall did you live in during your freshman year? Where do you think has the the best dorms??
