NYU Spring 2021 Transfer

Congrats!!! Before this morning, did your financial aid tab also say 2022?

Yes it did have 2022 for a while, and it also had 2021 under it as of last night.

congratulations!!! did they email you with a decision letter?

Not yet, but I have the admitted students portal and option to submit deposit, and a breakdown of my fin aid!

ooo is the admitted students portal another button on albert? theyre asking me to make a non-refundable enrollment deposit but usually you dont have to pay anything to be on a waitlist : (

Yeah so go to the “home” tab on albert, then press “view application status,” mine then shows the admitted students portal button which breaks down my acceptance

That’s so odd, I didn’t know waitlist was a possible outcome?

I got an accept or decline reward for the aid year 2021. I hope that means something good :3

yeah i dont have that :(( i got waitlisted from their summer 2018 hs program and that offer and this offer are both under a “waitlist offer” button

yeah i didnt know waitlist was common! but also idk how i feel about the whole having to pay a non-refundable enrollment deposit for being waitlisted

Did anyone get accepted to CAS today?

Maybe you should call the admissions office. They’ll be able to tell you if you definitely need to pay it or not

I think NYU may be suffering some financial problems due to COVID. This is why you have to pay for things you didn’t have to pay for like being on a waitlist。 Just my speculation though.

no. i haven’t heard anything and my Albert portal didn’t change. anyone in the same boat?

this is so odd – they said they havent made a decision about my application and that they’d give me my status mid-december but im still getting the decline/accept offer under the waitlist button and its asking for the deposit

Same  I’m just getting nervous now lol

Wow that is so weird. I’d call back again and get a second person to tell you that. Did you make sure to tell them what you were seeing on your side of the portal? Maybe they have an explanation for it

do you think they send out acceptances/waitlisted first and then rejections? or maybe there is no logic to it?

I think they just do it randomly to be honest. Mostly because people haven’t even received a letter yet, even if they did get accepted. I think the evening time is when they start sending everyone an email to check their portals, so it’s still possible to hear back between now and 5/6pm

yeah the admissions counselor was confused so she transferred me to a another person who just didnt pick up
