Also received a rejection letter from CAS Econ. Would have been nice to live in NYC, but CA is still awesome. I’m surprised I didn’t get in considering my GPA, course work, volunteer work, and work experience. But as a California resident, looks like I’m UC bound.

Congrats to everyone who got in Best of luck

Found out my housing today! Living in University Hall!

I got accepted yesterday into Steindhart and I wanted to transfer to NYU for Nutrition. But the more and more I think about it, I wonder is it worth going to NYU for Nutrition. I don’t believe the job opportunities are very good for this field. And I get 0 Financial Aid from NYU and even though I wasn’t planning to live on campus or get a meal plan the yearly costs would be exuberant still, most likely $55-60,000. I’m having a major dilemma now whether I should try out nutrition at NYU (where I would have to continue onto grad school and get the RD credential as well) or should I just continue at the state school that I’m going to and continue studying business (which I really am not a fan of but am studying out of practicality rather out of interest). Because I would be changing my major, I feel like would I have to start over as a freshman? I really feel confused because at this point I assumed I had received a rejection because I hadn’t heard from NYU at all until yesterday and was finally coming to terms with myself to stick through with business. I think the biggest issue is the cost of NYU, if it was cheaper or if I received some money I would probably say yes. But paying for potentially 2+ extra years (I’m a sophomore now) for a major that might not be fruitful is a little too much. If anyone could give me their opinion on whether or not they think NYU is worth it would really help. I’ve been contemplating, but I feel like I need some objective outside opinions as well. Thanks so much!

@hotelhunt hey i just applied for housing yesterday. did you get your first choice assignment? also do you know if they still have private bedrooms or studios available?

@FlexPavillion when do we move in the dorms?
before or after orientation?

Hi guys
I was on the exact same situation! I applied as a transfer for the Fall 2013 and thankfully I got in! It was the best decision of my life – NYU is amazing! Best of luck to you all! If you guys have any question, I can try to answer them!

@mochiboo55, I guess it’s the same both spring and fall, so you move in before orientation starts!

@AdamantSnail, I thought I wanted to major into IR as well (and Journalism).
Once you get into NYU, you will have to take a few politics and econ classes in order to apply for the program. You also have to write an essay and have a good GPA. I heard about half of those who apply get in – it’s competitive, but not impossible.
You can also do like me, and major in Politics with a concentration in International Politics! Actually, at NYU, if you major in politics, you can take the same classes as someone in IR takes, except for the honor thesis that is required for IR people.
One tip: do take the International Politics class. It’s a little challenging, but it gives you a good idea of what to expect in this major.

@rachel0725, I will be living in Coral Towers next semester too! I mean, I transferred last fall, was placed in Lafayette, had the worst roommate possible, and then I’m switching into Coral this semester! :)

@mochiboo55 check in begins on the 24th. I got placed in Greenwich Hall, Anyone else?

all of you guys who were accepted filled out the CSS form?

@samisphere the CSS profile is only required for international students. I think fafsa is good enough

@bosbr100 Thanks for the tip! I am interested in Political Science as well, so I will keep that in mind

@bosbr100 ahh!! what floor are you on? I’m on the 7th!!
