NYU Spring Transfer 2015

Does anybody else here have acceptance/rejection anxiety? #TypeOfWay

Currently a Junior at the University of Central Florida
Major: Nursing “pending” (not in nursing program yet)
I have my Associates in Arts degree
GPA is 3.26
Applied to NYU College of nursing at the end of September as a transfer student
I volunteer at the Florida Hospital for Children every week, shadowed nurse anesthetists, shadow surgeons in the OR frequently.
Two letters of recommendation: Nursing professor at UCF & charge nurse at FL Hospital
NYU is my dream nursing school.

Do you guys think I have a good chance of getting in since I am applying for the spring 2015 semester?
I AM SO NERVOUS

@bromary That’s a great school! I’m impressed.

@Kristiejofosho‌ 3.26 is kind of a low GPA but you have a shot. You never know, the application process for prestigious schools really are enigmatic.

@psc2ivy At this point I’ve just grown indifferent. Whatever happens, happens. No point stressing.

Same here! Already in at UF so no complaints here. This is not a life or death situation for me.

3.26 is low for NYU nursing but your ECs are really good and show you care about your future profession. I hope you get in, Kristie! Love the username also.

@PSC2IVY‌ I’m right there with you!! I’m soo anxious I hope we find out next week!

GGaaggghhh, the suspence!

I was wondering what it said on your albert login @PSC2IVY‌ … Mine has everything checked off but it doesn’t say if my application is under review or anything… I’m hoping we find out by next week I can’t take it anymore!!!

Mine is the same and they told me my app was complete and ready for review so you should be good.

@psc2ivy Yeah I got into University of Miami!

DUDE AWESOME. I got in as a senior but it was not the right atmosphere for me. If you love the beach, sunny FL, and pretty girls, 24/7/365… you have found the promised land. Miami used to have the nickname name “suntan-U” in the late 80s and early 90s but it has gotten seriously competitive, I’m talking like an ACT average of 29-33, and it is probably the best school in Florida. People usually knock on me when I say UF isn’t the best but that is only because Gainesville is not near the beach, the classes are huge, and the experience is impersonal. The only thing that sucks is there no merit aid for spring transfers.

I have no clue why but I applied for a major in motion pictures and was admitted again as a spring transfer. I submitted my YouTube channel as my portfolio and apparently that was enough. I think transfer admission is a little bit less competitive whereas it is more competitive to get into NYU as a transfer. But yeah man, is that your back-up if you don’t get into NYU?

Swooping in on this conversation @PSC2IVY‌ I saw you said Miami doesn’t offer merit aid to spring transfers… I didn’t know some schools didn’t!! Does NYU offer merit scholarships for springs transfers? I will definitely be needing something!

<a href=“Aid and Costs”>Aid and Costs;

Look under the Phi Theta Kappa scholarship.

Thank you so much! @PSC2IVY‌

I noticed that last year a student got his admission on Nov.7th. Therefore, does this mean that the first offer this year has already been sent?

Hmmm, good question. Decisions begin to roll out mid-November according to their deadline calendar. The next two weeks will be filled with joyous and depressing news for most of us.

Hey, for those of you who are going to dorm or live nearby, are you planning on cooking and where are you going to buy your kitchen supplies (hopefully cheap)?

It is probably a little bit early to be asking those kinds of questions haha. Personally, I don’t know where I am going to buy my kitchen stuff if I even live off-campus that is.
