NYU Standardized testing policy...

...is a little confusing. So, I am using commonapp, and you have the option of SAT, ACT, SAT II's, AP's, and toefl. Anyways, I have taken three subject tests ( US-740, Math level 2-780, Spanish-??) and the ACT ( 32 with 11 writing). The new testing policy states:

The SAT Reasoning Test and two SAT Subject Tests or
The ACT (with Writing Test) or
The SAT Reasoning Test and two AP exam scores or
Three SAT Subject Test scores (one in literature or the humanities, one in math or science, and one non-language test of the student’s choice) or
Three AP exam scores* (one in literature or the humanities, one in math or science, and one non-language of the student’s choice)

Now here is the problem. I would like to submit BOTH my ACT and 3 subject tests. However, I was wondering whether NYU would just take my ACT or SAT II and forget the other. Like they would only consider my ACT for admission. Is it a waste for me to submit my SAT II's or is it good? Also I don't really want to self report my AP scores, because I know that if you choose to submit AP scores, you have to submit all. I got all 4's and 5's on most AP exams, but on euro I got a terrible score. Because of NYU's new scoring policy, do I even need to submit AP scores?

Why don’t you call/email someone in admissions and ask? It’s a new policy so I doubt we could tell you that “yes, they’ll look at both” or “they’ll only look at one” or whatever.

Since there is an “or” and not an “and,” if you submit your ACT OR three SAT II subject tests, you don’t need to submit your AP scores. However, you could always withhold the bad score.

As for your other question, call Admissions.
