<p>I'm applying to NYU Steinhardt for art but how is it?
Is it hard to get in compared to other art schools like Parsons or SVA?
I visited the campus and I really liked it but some students at Parsons said the art program at Steinhardt is not as good?</p>
<p>D is a sophomore in the studio art program and really loves it and loves her professors. They are all working artists who show in galleries and museums throughout the city. She is concentrating in sculpture.</p>
<p>As for the strength of any art program, it depends on the area one wants to focus on. Some schools are stronger for fine arts, graphics or fashion design, while others less so. So it all depends on what one is looking for.</p>
<p>Also the academics in NYU are stronger and many of the art classes have reading and writing components.</p>
