I got an e-mail from NYU saying that "You are currently in application to the Psychology program within the College of Arts and Science. However, we feel you may benefit from the curriculum of the Applied Psychology major within the Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development. We would like to offer you the opportunity to change your anticipated major to Applied Psychology within the Steinhardt School."

Would it be good to change? Does anyone go to Steinhardt?

When coleges send messages such as this, it basically means “You’re in! But only if you pick this major”. Its basically automatic acceptance if you change the major. I have no idea what Steindhart is like though. Good luck and I hope you make the decision that works best for you.

yes of course people goes to steinhardt roll eyes

I don’t think it’s like what the poster above me said about you being “already in,” but I suppose the admission office thinks you might have a better chance because of the focus. Steinhardt’s applied psych to CAS psych can be compared in the sense of CAS econ to Stern Econ. The majors differ only in that the course requirements differ, but overall you would be taking similar classes. Take some time to learn about applied psych on steinhardt’s website and decide for yourself, and as a last note steinhardt is more of a people/culture oriented school and their majors all come off like that in one way or another.
as a last note: steinhardt is a lot smaller than CAS, meaning that there will be less struggles and hassles to go through. (people joke transferring to CAS as going to the dark side) I happened to have registered my classes two days earlier during welcome week than the CAS peers that I met.
