<p>I am not an expert on this in any way, but from what I was told, compared to other NYU schools, Steinhardt is not as selective (in terms of stats). However, they care more about essays and reccs than other NYU schools do. </p>
<p>What major did you apply for? I’m applying as a transfer to the Media Communication major.</p>
<p>I also applied for Steinhardt Communications as an undergraduate freshman. I was contacted for a HEOP interview/info session and it’s this Friday, and my stats weren’t THAT great, if that means anything. Hopefully Steinhardt isn’t selective on stats because my essays and recs were VERY good.</p>
<p>The non-portfolio based Steinhardt departments really do concentrate more on “fit” and essays rather than stats. For departments such as musical theatre (audition) and studio art (portfolio), it can be anyone’s guess.</p>
