NYU Stern Chances and Standardized Exams - Canadian Student

Sorry, I posted this on the NYU site but the traffic seems pretty low there, didn't get a lot of comments. Just would like some insights and tips. Thanks!

I am a Canadian student applying for NYU Stern ED. I read up on the NYU website that they now changed their flexibility on standardized exams.
I am taking the IB Diploma Program (full IB) at my high school, and according to the NYU standardized exam website, it stated that:

NYU has one of the most flexible testing policies of any college or university.

To be eligible for admission, applicants to NYU's New York and Abu Dhabi campuses are expected to submit results from one of the following testing options:

The SAT Reasoning Test; or
The ACT (with Writing Test); or
Three SAT Subject Test scores; or
Three AP exam scores; or
Three IB higher level exam scores; or
Students may instead elect to submit results from a nationally accredited exam that is considered locally to signify the completion of secondary education and is administered independently of the student's school.
Examples include but are not limited to:

International Baccalaureate Diploma; or
GCE Advanced Level Examinations (AS-level and GCSE/O-level examination results should also be submitted if available); or
European Abitur, Baccalaur

Anyone? :P

Bump! Anything?

Hi Cliff,
First of all, I recently had a chat with one of the Admissions Officer from NYU and she said that with IB Predicted Scores, they want 1 from the Humanities, 1 from the Math/Sciences and 1 of Anything. However, these 3 predicted scores have to all be in HL. Otherwise, you can’t use those to replace your Standardize Tests.

Hope that helps!
Dark.

Hey Dark,

You are right about that as I emailed a lady who said the exact same thing. However, I just received an email notification from Bobbe Fernando, international outreach director of NYU, and he told me that if I am taking the full IB Diploma and plan to submit a full set of predicted results for all 6 subjects, NYU does not have specific subject requirements for the HL subjects. This was a good stress reliever as I thought I did not even meet the pre-req for NYU Standardized Exams.

Hey Cliff,

Then that’s good!. I just sent in my ED1 application yesterday and I am waiting for their e-mail confirmation. I just hope they will send it quickly as they downloaded my application already. Best of luck with applying and I hope you get into your top choice university!

Cheers
