NYU Stern Chances

I applied for admission to NYU Stern Early Decision 1.

What do you think?

SAT I (breakdown): I sent my SAT and it was a 2180 (700 Reading, 750 Math, 730). However, I have a 35 ACT.
ACT: 35 ACT (33 Writing, 35 Math, 34 Reading, 36 Science, 10 Essay)
SAT II: 780 Chemistry, 790 U.S. History, 730 Math IIC (I recognize that this isn't the best score but I took all three tests on the same day and I think my ACT and course rigor makes up for it.)
Unweighted GPA (out of 4.0): 98.6 Unweighted and 104.6 weighted average
Rank (percentile if rank is unavailable): Our school does not rank but I am either number 2 or 3 in my competitive high school
AP (place score in parenthesis): European History-5 U.S. History-5 Biology-4
IB (place score in parenthesis): We do not offer the IB Diploma
Senior Year Course Load: AP Statistics, AB Calculus, Physics 1, English LIterature, Government, Marcoeconomics. I am also taking an Honors level Spanish class for college credit through a local university that I believe NYU would allow me to use to place out of a language. I have taken all honors and AP classes during all four years of High School and have had a 4.0 every semester.
Major Awards (USAMO, Intel etc.):

3rd Place-Research Association Fair (NYU will know what it is)

Qualifier for Long Island Business Teacher's Assocation examination
Perfect score on the WISE Financial Literacy Examination
Qualifier for DECA States in Hospitality and Tourism
AP Scholar (3 AP's)-Will receive AP Scholar with Distinction in June 2015

I really love business and medicine and really want to go into healthcare managment so I can get the best of both worlds. I feel that I had to explain this since my curriculum vitae has both medical and business aspects to it.

Subjective:

Extracurriculars (place leadership in parenthesis): Co-President and Secretary of the Medical Explorers Club, Vice President and Treasurer of the Environmental Club, Member of DECA, National Honor Society, and the World Language Honor Society. I also play the violin and was in String Orchestra for 9th and 10th grade. I was the only freshman first violin in the entire school.
Job/Work Experience: All of my work experience is nonprofit so I am putting in the Volunteer section.
Volunteer/Community service: Summer Academic Program at my local high school where I tutor underprivileged children. I also tutor ACT, Pre Calculus, AP U.S. History, AP European History, Geometry, and Algebra 2 Trig. I have worked at North Shore LIJ, St. Francis Hospital, been affiliated through Winthrop, and have been to SUNY Stony Brook. I have over 300 hours of community service.
Summer Activities:
Working at local hospitals (and learning the business side as well)
Columbia University Pre-College Program
Georgetown Pre-College Program
Adelphi Pre-College Program
North Shore-LIJ Dental Clinic-I met with the head of the clinic and during my time there, I learned about the medical and business sides of the clinic.

Essays:
Teacher Recommendation: I have four in addition to one from my high school principal
Counselor Rec: She knows me very well so I feel that it will reflect who I am.
Additional Rec: All of the recs will be solid
Interview: Does not apply since I am a New York Resident.

My common app essay and supplement are extrememly well-written and original. Everyone basically says that I have a shoe in but I personally am unsure that I will be admitted.

Other

State (if domestic applicant): NY
Country (if international applicant): USA
School Type: Public but extremely competitive

Reflection

Strengths: My ACT scores, grades (I may be salutatorian), my passion for business. Most qualified applicant applying from my school. Essays. Letters of recommendation. Drive and motivation. Love of NYU.
Weaknesses: Maybe not enough business extracurriculars but I have taken many business classes at my high school. I also plan to take accounting at a local college.

I have taken Marketing and Investments for college credit and got all A's. I took Career and Financial Management and got an A too but it was offered for college credit.

Career and Financial Management was not offered for college credit.

You have a good chance but nyu stern is VERY competitive.

Based on all the information presented, I’d say you have a very strong chance. Your numbers are very competitive, and your ECs are equally strong.

I currently go to NYU Stern, I’d say you have a decent chance. I would submit your ACT and not your SAT I, just so you’re viewed in the best light possible. If you are really committed to going into business, NYU Stern is probably the best place to be so you made a good choice EDing there. Applying ED I will definitely help, it makes you a priority candidate. Best of luck, feel free to message me with any questions you may have.
