NYU Stern? Could it happen?

So ever since I was in 8th grade, NYU Stern has been my dream. I'm a junior now so I'm gonna apply next year so could you please tell me where i'm at? Thanks in advance.

I know stern is really competitive. Do I have a decent chance or is it a long shot?

Bump 10 char

I’d say you’re in a very excellent place. My stats were similar to yours in terms of SAT scores–but you have the good advantage of having every subject above a 700, which shows that you are well rounded in terms of academics. Your ECs like Varsity sports, in addition to your musical talent show that you can add to the community–that you’re not just a bump on a log.
I got in with a similar SAT score, albeit, lower subject score in science, but let’s be real–for Stern, it’s the math one that really counts. I didn’t have as excellent ECs as you, but my GPA was 4.6ish/5, and I was top 5%. I’d say you’re good.
What I suggest right now is focusing on how you are going to sell yourself on your essays. On the commonapp, there’s a personal essay where you can write about the assigned topic, or choose your own topic–whatever you write, make sure it says something more about you than just your resume. Your stats are enough to get you in, but it won’t happen if you show the college that there is no emotion behind the varsity sport-playing, four-instrument, 2250 SAT, white Jewish guy.
As for your grandfather’s friend, don’t count on this connection being able to help you unless you personally know this professor, and the professor is willing to put in a good word for you. But don’t worry about it–your ECs and scores put you in a very good position for NYU Stern.

agree with liz, but i just feel ur UW GPA is pretty low, so that might b the only thing that would hurt you

If you took the most rigorous classes, I think you have a good shot.
