NYU Stern ED

I'm applying to NYU Stern Early Decision and would like to know my chances. I'm an Asian male at a fairly competitive school in NJ. Below is my resume/stats. Thanks for any input!

ACT- Eng: 34, Math:34, Reading: 31, Science: 26 (:(), COMPOSITE: 31.25
btw, does anyone know if colleges consider a 31.25 higher than like a 30.5? The composites are the same, but the scores aren't really.

GPA- weighted: 4.54, unweighted: 3.89

Rank- school doesn't rank, but counselor says im most likely in top 5%.

Thanks again!

If you were applying to NYU Arts and Sciences, I'd say you had a pretty good chance. Stern, on the other hand, is very, very tough, nearly as tough as Wharton. You need Ivy or near Ivy quality stats to get in. Given your stats, then, it's a reach. Figure about a 10% chance.

I'd say his chance is higher if he's really top 5% (colleges know even if your school doesn't rank), maybe 40%, if he doesn't need money.

I don't know. Depends on whether Stern weighs the class rank heavier or the ACT score. Anyway, all I can say is that it's highly selective, and lots of kids who apply to Wharton, Sloan, and other top B-schools also apply to Stern. It's damn competitive.

wow, I didn't realize how competitive it was to get into Stern. I mean, I knew it was a good school, but the on par with Wharton?...wow...well, thanks for the input.

Agree Amptron, as Wharton and Sloan get harder to get into than Harvard, Stern becomes a very difficult admit.
