NYU Stern or Rutgers

I am a current freshman and attend Rutgers. I was recently accepted into NYU Stern and not sure if it is worth attending. I pay in-state tution for Rutgers, which is about $16k after a small scholarship, while NYU is around $45k. In the next years, I would be paying over $85k more.

What do you guys/gals think? Is the education and opportunties after worth it?

Job market is best @ NYU for Stern kids. What are you looking to do after graduation?

GO TO NYU STERN!!! The job opportunities are amazing.

I go to Rutgers and the opportunities for kids who go there are in no short supply. Goldman Sachs, Lehamn Brothers, Morgan Stanley, Johnson and Johnson, Metlife Barclays , all the major financial companies recruit from Rutgers. Stern is in NYC which is hard to beat and they also have there contacts. There is an upside to going to Stern, compared to Rutgers but if you are happy at RU and feel that you can be succesful here and get a good job when you graduate you ahould be fine.

Rutgers Business School is highly ranked too...

Thanks for your replies.

I want to do major in finance and want to end up in investment banking.

Karu: You are right, Rutgers has strong recruiting ties.

from what I understand rutgers is more recruited for back office positions at banks prestigious banks than IB division.

Your chances at rutgers are probably just as good as any other non target, Stern is a target so it will be easier to get first interviews but after that it's pretty much left up to you.

transfernow...

Finance= Stern

Stern for IBanking

Stern has Damodaran, what more could you ask for? He literally teaches during the analyst training programs for many banks.
