NYU Stern Questions

Hello, I had a few questions about NYU Stern before I decide whether or not to ED there. If you have gone to NYU Stern Undergrad and kindly take some time to entertain my questions, I would be very thankful!

  1. How challenging would you say classes are? From what you have experienced so far (I know you are a freshman so whatever you have experienced/heard).
  2. How do social gatherings occur? The nontraditional “campus” has me wondering how and when kids get together in NYC and if there are locations where you are bound to find kids congregated during, before, or after school hours.
  3. I’ve heard very little about the Stern curve and different perspectives provide conflicting facts on what it is. If you happen to know about this, can you let me know what exactly it is?
  4. How do clubs and activities work - in that - how prevalent are they, and how many people do you know attend clubs after school?
  5. What is the work load like as a Stern undergrad? Does it allow for socializing after school?
  6. I know Greek life is very predominant in other universities, but I was wondering if such is the case at NYU in general?
  7. Is it likely for me to have classes with people in other schools at NYU? How often can I see people who go to different schools at NYU?
  8. I know many people say that kids at Stern hold their noses in the air so to speak. While I am not quick to believe these things, I was wondering to what extent this characterization is true?
  9. Does the vastness of New York City make attending NYU daunting? I know this is subjective and varies depending on prior exposure to urban cities, but I was wondering from your perspective, what you thought.
