I know NYU wants standardized tests, and my high school stats suck. which do you recommend will be better? Is there a way i can convince the admissions committee to look past these scores?
Do i have a chance to actually get in?

You don’t have to submit standardized testing scores if you’ve completed a year of college.

I apparently have to because by the time I apply (April 1) I wont have completed my second semester of college. I asked admissions and they said I have to

im very desperate for advice

Definitely apply. I had slightly higher standardized scores, a bit fewer extracurriculars, and similar GPA both in HS and Freshman year and was accepted. Scores and stats aren’t really within your control to change at this point so focus on providing recommendations from people who can really speak in depth about you and your ability to learn in a college environment. Additionally your transfer essays are going to be very important I would say even more so than a regular college application as you have to balance your success in an environment that you are trying to get out of while describing why you are a better fit for a school you either didn’t initially apply to or get into.

The Admissions Office may ask you for your 2nd semester grades mid-term grades if they are on the fence.
