NYU Stern Transfer Chance

Hi I would like to transfer to a better business program next fall. I wanted to know if I should even bother applying to Stern (I might just apply to CAS). I have heard Stern has GPA cut offs (3.7+) so I dont know if its worth applying.

Right now I have a 3.6 GPA (42 credits) at a well known SUNY. I did poorly first semester due to family problems (separation of parents) but received a 3.8 and 4.0 in the proceeding semesters. I am a direct admit to my current university's b-school, so many of my courses match up with Stern's prerequisites and recommended courses. My only problem is I already took a survey to calc course, which does not fulfill Stern's Calc 1 requirement (Needs to be calc 1, survey doesn't fulfill the req). Should I take Calc 1 next semester? I am also taking a couple courses next semester (2 Writ/English courses) that will not be complete until the end of spring. Will in progress courses hurt my admission chances?

I have had multiple internships. My most recent was with a small networking company in Manhattan. We helped organize numerous conferences for people interested in the high-frequency trading industry. This summer I may take an internship in Japan with a well known network company. If it helps, I am a member of a business club and the men's club lacrosse team.

I have three solid recommendations. One from my accounting professor (had a 105 average in the class), sociology professor (NYU alum), and employer (how I helped his company/mentored new interns)

Other schools I'm applying to are USC, UNC-Chapel Hill, Cornell ILR, Tufts, Lehigh, Tulane, University of Washington.

Please let me know if you guys have any information or advice.
