I've been reading a few other posts, and it seems like my chances are somewhat low, but I figured I'd post this anyway... A girl can dream, right?

Reasons for Transferring:
I recently transferred there, and I LOVE it! However, the academics are not very challenging, my aid wasn't great (I didn't apply to NYU because I heard the aid was awful) & it is the same price as AU. As much as I love D.C., it's just not quite the city feel I want. I always thought I wanted a more "traditional" campus, but I've realized I miss being an a city.

Currently a sophomore at American University.
GPA: 3.55 - although combined with my Freshman year, it rides around 3.6.
H.S. GPA: Weighted - 3.75, Unweighted ~ 3.5.

E.C's:
I have yet to be heavily involved with clubs, but I have worked 15-25 hours a week since Freshman year. I volunteer weekly with D.C. Central Kitchen & have a laundry list of 1year+ commitments to non-profits in my hometown.

Background:
Was a homeless teenager. Dropped out of high-school at 16 and got my GED, working to support my family. Entered community college 6 months later, received a 3.75 GPA with a tough course-load.

Awards/Recognition:
I was a Community Organizer for the Obama '12 Campaign over the Summer and was chosen, based on an essay & overall performance, with 6 other organizers (out of 1200) to have lunch with the President.
