NYU Stern transfer fall 2015

@hellokitty223‌ yes, i’ll be applying to AEM

@TedNicholas‌ I have not. You?. have a few questions I will like to list an Intensive Investment Banking Training in my activities, should I list this at a career oriented activities. I have done a few online courses with Yale and UPenn should I list this or not?

Hey im actually a high school senior and correct me if i am wrong, but im fairly positive for transfers that if you already have a certain number of credits (30 i believe), admissions offices don’t look at your high school report anymore and your SAT/ACT/high school gpa become practically useless.

@nrivera12‌ I would list the Investment Banking Training in the activities for sure. List it as career oriented. A far as the online courses, I’m not sure. You would be better off asking a Stern admissions officer and get their opinion

Hey guys! I know its a bit early but just submitted my application. Here are my stats…

(Course load is not too intensive hardest course is differential eqns other than that it’s a lot of intros)
Highschool GPA (UW): 3.9 W: 4.4
SAT: 2370 (770/800/800)
SAT IIs: Math II 800, Physics 800, World History 690
Decent ECs, really involved in cultural organizations and in the economics club.

Strengths: Higher tier university, solid reasons for transferring

Weaknesses: I’m asian, I need quite a bit of aid

Please chance me and ask me anything!

Hi everyone. I am thinking about transferring to nyu.
i currently go to University of Connecticut with 3.8 GPA unweighted.
I don’t have SAT scores since I graduated high school not in the US. I moved here after high school. went to community college and then to UConn.
I am business major (finance minor in economics)
i am am member of Phi theta Kappa. Tutor for english and math. some volunteering.
I speak english, Ukrainian, russian, and some polish.
also finances might be an issue.
what are my chances guys?

Does transfer student need SAT score? NYU is stilling indicating in my Albert list that I need to submit my SAT score. Are anybody else having same condition ?

@Nomads77‌ I don’t think you need standardized test score if you have more than 30 credits. (one full year). I guess you need to call them to tell them that.

@yoyo45987 Thank you for your response. I’ll call them tomorrow.

@yoyo45987 Thank you for your response. I’ll call them tomorrow!

@Nomads77‌ You’re welcome! Keep us up to date!

Anyone heard back yet?

Nothing yet. Anxiously waiting :-/

Alright! Keep us updated!

I received an email today at 5:30 am eastern time and was rejected. Good luck to everyone else still waiting ! I’ll work my a** off for another semester or two and reapply. Here are my stats if anyone is interested:

Non-traditional student: Spent two years working full-time as an electrician after HS
HS GPA ~3.0/4.0
SAT 1600/2400
Currently a freshman at a SUNY school w/ 28 completed credits
College GPA 4.0/4.0
ECs: Founder & President of Financial Management Club, Public Relations Manager of Politics, Economics and Law Club (PEL), Sophomore Rep. for Student Govt Association, Co-Eboard Member of Business Club, Volunteer for Habitat for Humanity

Disappointed I didn’t get in. I thought I put forth a solid application. My essay was great, had 2 recs from college professors (1 of which was a UC Berkley grad), demonstrated an interest in business/finance, and demonstrated an upward trend in grades. Sucks that I was rejected but the way I see it, its only a reason to work harder and put forth a stronger application next year.

Good luck to all of those still waiting and congratulations to all people already accepted !!
@DistantOutlier @yoyo45987

Good luck everyone!

Was looking at the other fall 2015 NYU transfer thread. Someone said that Stern isn’t accepting any external transfer this year due to high volume of internal transfer. Is this true?

i applied to cas but didnt get email yet
when i visit https://housing.nyu.edu/apply
i get this: http://imgur . com/fmdE3l3
