Is it possible you could tell me if I have a chance I could get into NYU Stern, U Richmond, and Georgetown as a transfer? I am worried I am wasting my time. I am a freshman majoring in Finance. I go to American University in DC.
My first semester ended and my GPA is a 3.87 (3 A’s and 2 A-'s) . is it possible you could see if i have a chance?

I know NYU wants standardized tests, and my high school stats suck. which do you recommend will be better? Is there a way i can convince the admissions committee to look past these scores?
Do i have a chance to actually get in to these places?
I am frustrated with AU’s social environment and I feel like I do not belong there as a Business student. Any help would be greatly appreciated
NYU requires and expects at least an SAT score of 1860. You’re pretty close. Extracurricular are there and active. As for AP exams, they want at least fours. You have a chance, but it’s not a definite. You need something to make yourself stand out.
U Richmond- Requires an SAT score that ranges between 1820-2130. You just made it. They want to see at least fours on exams.
Georgetown- requires an SAT of 2000 and exams must be fours or greater.
All of these schools are extremely selective and require high scores to prove excellence. Extracurricular activities are important, yet not necessary to. They want high scores in order to prove how elite they are. Not saying that you don’t have a chance, but thousands of kids apply to these schools with worse or better scores. You need to continue to prove yourself or look elsewhere. Besides, all of these schools have a 37% admitted chance and tuition is 60K.
@nicc305 thank you for your response. U Richmond said that sending my SAT score is optional so do you think i should just keep it to myself? Its optional because im a transfer student
I heard NYU Stern acceptance is 2% for transfer. im worried.
do you have any suggestions on how to stand out? i am making a valid case in my essays
I think you have a good GPA with an easy schedule and taking some more challenging classes would benefit you for a school like Georgetown. I’d imagine URichmond is your best shot of the three.
It sounds easy because as a freshman I have to take all these gen ed courses. I want to take as many business courses as possible but they just won’t let me. Is there a way to get around it?
I don’t think business courses tend to be very difficult so I really don’t think you’d improve your standing that way. Regardless, these are questions for your adviser.
I would just apply away. Honestly nobody here can really tell your chances of getting in. Also if sending test scores are optional then I personally wouldn’t send them but that’s just me. I would say your chances are decent for all three you got high GPA and good recommendation but really I am just going off really nothing
