Hey everybody, I'm down to two options that I'm seriously considering. I got into NYU Stern's Business and Political Economy program and Boston College's Economics program at the School of Management.

Location-wise, I prefer Manhattan to the more suburban Chesnut Hill, but I really like that BC has more of a campus (and easy access to Boston). With that said, I have no problem with NYU's lack of a campus.

The BPE Program at NYU is fairly new and I would get to spend my sophomore year in London and half of junior year in Shanghai. I would probably prefer it to the Economics program at BC but I'm not sure. It's also pretty selective I hear.

The price tags for each are within $1000 of each other so it really isn't an issue.

Could anyone give pros/cons of these programs? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Stern. No question about it.

It’s on the same level as the Ivies, you will get great connections and opportunities like internships and it’s world renowned. Boston College is great and all but Stern is where it’s at.

Last year, my son had a similar decision that included Carroll vs Stern. Stern is by far a better choice. Global brand (see for example how Financial Times (UK) or Shanghai rank them), alumni connections, opportunity to do internships, 98-99% employment at graduation, etc. Check out WSO and other sites.

You will receive a great education in both places, but there are more opportunities at Stern. The BPE program will provide you with a global view for business. The kids stick together as they move as a group thru the locations. It seems a fantastic opportunity. My son is not in BPE but he has several friends that do. Examine the hellodocks thread.

Good luck on your decision!
