Hello, I’m currently a senior in high school and planning on applying to NYU regular decision. I’d like to pursue a path in business, and NYU Stern has been my dream school for awhile now, buttttt I know average ACT for Stern is a 33, and I only have a 31. So now I’ve just been driving myself crazy debating whether I should even bother applying to Stern, or just go for CAS Economics. I know most business around NYC will just recruit directly from Stern and it is much more prestigious than CAS. Also, I know that if I put CAS as my alternate choice to Stern I will most likely be rejected from there too.
•weighted gpa is a 4.35
•unweighted is 3.7
•I am in the top 10% of my class
•My extracurriculars include your basic involvement in clubs, community service, starting my own club (I won’t drone on about all of those)
•received honor roll every semester of high school
•I’ve also received an AP Scholar award
*However the ec that I believe stands out the most is that I started a non profit for girl’s education and talked with local business and got them involved to donate a portion of their profits. I think this is something that would look really good especially as a business major.
So basically, should I bother applying Stern or shoot for CAS Econ?
