NYU Stern vs. UCSD

I got into Stern and was committed to the program, but I'm having second thoughts. I visited NYU this weekend, and just really didn't like the campus. Plus, I don't think I want to spend the next four years studying the intricacies of business just yet. I want to work in technology related fields (startups) after I graduate, so a double major at Stern should help me, but I don't know very much about NYU's reputation in the fields of the computer science or mathematics.
Thus I am kind of leaning towards to UCSD as it seems to be stronger in the sciences, engineering, and computer science. However being from LA, I kind of want to get away from California and NYU Stern and finance seems to be such a "safe" option that gives a lot of opportunities based on the name itself, it's just that finance doesn't really excite me, it seems like a fallback.
Thus if anyone could give me any information about NYU and the viability of studying in the tech fields there, it would be very helpful. Plus any general recommendations would be great. Thanks!

Go to NYU!
If you do decide that you want to go into the finance industry, it will be much, MUCH easier to go from NYU. Breaking into the finance industry from UCSD is very much an uphill battle. Trust me.
