NYU Stern vs. University of Chicago

I was recently accepted by both Stern and UChicago but I am really unsure which to choose. I want to go into business in the future (leaning more towards management). UChicago doesn't have undergrad for Booth so I chose international relations at UChicago and I am thinking MBA after that. Stern would just be right into business.

Can you please give some advice?

Thank you!

Personally, I would choose Chicago, but that’s just me. I love Chicago’s campus (it is more well defined than NYU) and I also prefer Chicago to NYC!

In your case, you should decide on which academic experience you want. Stern is a business program, while Chicago will offer you a more traditional liberal arts education with a highly structured and rigorous core.

Do not worry about jobs (both will do), go for fit.

If you are aiming for jobs in Accounting or Brand Management, then going to an undergrad biz school like Stern will be a huge asset if not an outright requirement given the other students you would be competing with who are gunning for jobs in these areas. If it is a career in Finance or Management Consulting you seek, then both will suffice as Alexandre aptly pointed out.

In lieu of Business Major Chicago has Economics major and it is as good.

Thank you for your replies. As for academic experience, I want more of a liberal education. I have also heard that an international relations degree won’t really get you anywhere. However, with a Stern BBA, you could usually get a job out of school. I have visited the NYU campus and I quite liked it. I’m not really sure about the situations at Chicago. I only just got in from the wait list. What is the experience at Chicago like and the environment of the school?

If you do relatively well, you will be very employable from either. Do not worry about the employment, just pick the one you feel the most “fit”. That fit includes your personal preference and cost. Academically they are equally good.
