NYU STERN

Hello I am a sophomore in a private High School in Brooklyn , NY and I really want to go to NYU Stern

My freshman year stats were terrible
My school has a GPA out of 100 and my freshman gpa was a 83.25 but my sophomore year it is a 91. Do they like to see upward trends like this?

Ap: my school doesn’t offer for freshman and sophomores. Next year I will be taking AP European History, AP US HIstory and AP Chemistry.

Extra curriculars:
JV volleyball team
President of the FBLA club in my school
I have 47 hours of community service and I plan on having 120 by graduation.
I am the president of the DealMakers Commision in my school.
I am taking the ACT next year and also a bunch of SAT IIs next year.
Do you have any reccomendation on which courses I should take that will look good on my stern app?
I will be taking honors courses next year in every subject.

My school is a Yeshivah( Jewish school) so I have grades on Modern Hebrew such as laws, hebrew language, bible. These grades are combined into one on my transcript though. Does NYU Stern even care about these hebrew grades?

I took the Baruch Summer Leadership Academy last year and I am going to NYU Precollege this summer. I am hoping to be in very close touch with proffesors there. I am taking the Macroeconomics course and the Psychology course.

Ethnicity: Hispanic

I am planning on applying ED to Stern. I don’t need financial aid and I am commited to going if I get accepted. Does being Hispanic, Jewish, and not needing financial aid help?

Thanks so much. Please give all advice that you can!

GPA is a little low, but your course rigor is good. Being Hispanic, and not needing any financial aid helps a tremendous amount. Also, applying ED helps a lot. You have a good shot, as long as you do good on SAT/ACT. Try for 1400/1600 or at least a 32.
