Background: Native American male from a low income household with substance abuse issues (I go into detail in my common app easy as well as the “extra information to consider” section of the common app). Also from a geographically unrepresented state in NYU. I am also a first generation student. In my common app short answer, I focus on their Mock Trial team and internships.

I think this is interesting and actually possible because NYU boasts a “holistic” review of applications, and I wanted to see what everyone else thinks.

I think that you’d either be waitlisted or denied from Stern. Although your ACT is a 31, this is only one point above the school average. Your GPA is a weakpoint but I think you have great ecs and your essay as well as your ethnicity will certainly be a strong point for you. Good luck!
