You can’t skip Calc 1 with AB, and you can only skip BC and take Calc3 if you get a 5 on BC. A C range for BC will not look good for Stern. A lot of freshmen end up retaking Calc 1, so its not that big a deal.
So if I stick to taking AP AB, I still stand a chance of getting in?
Yeah of course. If you don’t think you can handle BC, definitely take AB. Its probably split between the kids accepted of who took AB and who took BC or even higher. AB is definitely sufficient in my opinion.
So our final grades just came out for junior year…I have two C+'s (one in civil engineering and one in chemistry…our finals were suddenly 20% this year because they scrapped midterms and I got really stressed out with the cumulative material on each exam). Other than that, I have A-'s and a B- (not counting gym and health). Does anyone know how badly have my chances at Stern been affected (my previous GPA, when first making this post, was a 3.72)?
But I also won’t be majoring in engineering so I’m not sure how that works because of the school being a STEM school and me picking business for college instead…
We still don’t have our GPAs but our online grading system reported on my transcript that I had above a 4 for the first two years of high school? I think the C+'s would have affected that (does anyone know how much it would’ve gone down?)…I’m mid 2200s on SATs right now and I’m testing in October so hopefully I’ll hit the 2300s range (really only have to get a couple of more problems right in math I think).

Our school is #4 in STEM, yes. Do you know if the grades will affect my chances? It’s a pretty rigorous curriculum.
Do not mentally attach yourself to this one school as it most likely will not fulfill your dream!
