Here's my dilemma: should I answer these prompts humorously such as giving a fantastical version of my life for the 2050 one? Fantastical as in no way I would ever accomplish any of this but it's nice to dream (and I dream of this quite constantly haha). Or do I be serious on exactly what I want to do with my life? A mix of both maybe? :)

I know UChicago likes quirky essays, but does NYU also? My question pertains more to the movie of my life and the poem rather than why I chose NYU and major.

You can go either way and I think they would be happy with either. I am taking the quirky/original approach to the famous New Yorker, 2050, and maybe the poem.
I am being serious about my intended major, what I did this summer, and my most imortant EC.

Very much the same with organic1992.

I took New Yorker, 2050 and the poem very personal and quirky while still being somewhat serious.

Summer and Intended was serious. Initially, I had them personal, too. But it doesn’t look good to joke around about what you are going to study.
