NYU Tisch 2018, Chance Me?

Hi everyone!
So I'm a junior right now, and Tisch's film program is my dream. Right now, here are my stats:

GPA: 95% unweighted, probably around a 99% weighted
PSATS (superscored): 790 Math, 700 Reading, 680 Writing
Classes:
- Freshman: accelerated all classes (don't really remember my grades)
- Sophomore: 3 IBs (Math HL1, French HL1, Chemistry HL1) & APUSH (5 on the exam), Advanced art
- Junior: 5 IBs (French HL2, Math HL2, English HL1, Economics SL, Physics HL1/SL), Theory of Knowledge, and Photography (IB Art didn't fit into my schedule)
- Senior: planning on taking History of the Americas (IB HL), English (IB HL2), Art (IB SL), and most likely Chemistry (IB HL2) and Physics (IB HL2). I can't take a language or math because there are no more offered at my school for my level, so I may be taking a calculus class at the local SUNY university. And I've been on Honor Roll throughout all of High School so far
ECs:
- tennis since I was 6, Varsity since 9th grade
- Indoor Track (starting this year)
- Scholar Athlete Award & STAC Award for tennis for the past 3 years
- I'm on regional board for my youth group as "Regional Historian", pretty much I take pictures and make videos at all the regional events, I've been on Chapter Board since freshman year, & I have a good chance at being on national board next year, & I've been involved since 5th grade
- National Honor Society
- Selected to go on a 5 week Israel Advocacy trip with my youth group (Summer 2012)
- Applying to a leadership program with my youth group for this summer, and to NYU's summer Film program, I'm going to whichever one turns out to be cheaper if I get accepted to both
- I'm in Mathletes, Art Club, French Club, participated in French Exchange this past year, and I'm part of my school's Mentoring Program that helps integrate incoming freshman into high school
- I've volunteered throughout my community constantly for the past 4 years

The one place I'm lacking in is film experience. I've been really into photography since middle school, my photography has been featured on a few blogs, but most of the film I do is for my youth group & school. I also tried out being "youtube famous", it didn't go too well, but I don't think the videos were too bad. I'm trying to work on a few short films this year to get some practice.

What are my chances / what should I try to accomplish this year to add to my resume?

Thank you so much!!

I’m not an expert on this but your stats look top notch! My son who is a senior got into Tisch Film for 2018. You’re a junior so you’re really looking at class of 2019, right? Tisch and other top film schools are looking for passion, creativity, and storytelling ability. So your portfolio has to be as good as your grades. Your essays should be personal and honest so they get to know the real you. Focus your ECs on your passions. Don’t worry about film experience as they don’t expect it but you do have to show your fine storytelling ability in your portfolio in some way (photography, script, video). If you’re going to Tisch Summer Film program, do well, and impress the faculty, that will certainly help you with your application.
