Hi guys, I’m still in the process of applying to college but wanted some more info about life at NYU in the Tisch program (specifically, film)
I have this image of a really great environment with extremely creative people that vibe off of each other. Is this really what its like?? Because if so that would be amazing.
Also, do Tisch students have their own dorms?
Really I just want to know about the social life of Tisch students and culture of the program.
Thanks in advance
…i really should be working on my applications right now…
Hey there, Im also applying to Tisch for film! I toured the school this past July and from what I saw you work a lot with other students. During your sophomore year you’re put in a group of 4 people and you have to make 20 films in 14 weeks. Everyone directs 5 of the films, and then you assist on the others. This, among other things is one of the many ways you get to collaborate with other Tisch students.
As for a “Tisch dorm”, I’m not so sure. I heard somewhere that there is a Film floor, within themed housing. You don’t have to be in Tisch to live in the floor; everyone on the floor just really likes movies.
BUT I’m not currently a student there, so I don’t know how up to date my info is.
@gre3se Thank you so much for the response! And OMG!!! The collaboration aspect sounds absolutely fantastic and exactly what I am looking for. And it would be awesome to have a dedicated Tisch dorm but a floor full of movie lovers is all I could ask for!
Also best of luck with your application too! Hopefully we both get in because the program sounds amazing.
