Nyu tisch or seton hall

I was recently accepted to NYU TISCH for cinema/film on scholarship that would cover about half the tuition and I'd still have to factor in room & board. It is my dream school especially for what I want to go into and I do love it, but I'm not sure the loans are worth the risk. My other option is Seton Hall University where the loans are minimal if I even have to take any because I got onto the school's Forensics Speech Team on scholarship(which is another great opportunity). At Seton Hall I'd also be settiling into a major that's not really ideal. Does anyone have any insight? Are the loans worth it?

I live near Seton Hall and having been here my whole life, I can tell you the South Orange area is not a place I would spend my college years. If you got into NYU Tisch, then you are a higher caliber individual than most who would be at Seton Hall.

It comes down to a question of New York City and the opportunities of NYU vs. South Orange, NJ. I feel it would be a mistake not to pick Tisch over Seton Hall.

Not to mention Seton Hall is right on the border of Vailsburg, Newark, which is not a particularly nice area.

I have never responded on a thread like this so strongly, so please forgive…but the above poster is absolutely correct…

Beg, borrow or steal…but go to Tisch; no comparison; apples and oranges…!!
