NYU Tisch or Stern? Film Major.

Okay, so I need some help (why else would I be posting this?). I’m looking to apply to NYU as a Film & Television major. That’s offered by Tisch, but there’s also a dual degree program (BS/BFA) at Tisch and Stern for more of a business side of the film industry. I know both schools are harder to get into compared to CAS, as Stern is more reliant on grades and Tisch on talent. In the future, I’m looking to produce television shows and movies, as I have more of a creative input. I’m just not sure what degree would be more beneficial to my future, as I am also looking to graduate earlier than most students. Would the dual degree program inhibit myself from taking internships? Or could that be included in the program? I’m just kind of lost overall (sorry).

I am a bisexual, multi-racial (Asian, African American, and European), female living in New York.

My Stats:
-Unweighted GPA 93.6/100
-Weighted GPA 95.2/100
-ACT: 30 (I’m retaking this in September)

Activities:
-Stage Crew (building sets for Fall Drama and Spring Musical at my school) - all 4 years
-Asian-American Club - past 2 years
-National Art Honor Society, Chinese Honor Society, and Thespian Honor Society (past 3 years)
-National Honor Society (past 2 years)

Community Service:
-Volunteered for my school’s robotics team as the art director
-Volunteered as a student teacher at my local church

Jobs:
-Started working this summer at a department store

Also Tisch requires a portfolio to be submitted along with the college application itself. I don’t really have the resources to produce a good-quality film, but I do have some pictures of set pieces that I’ve built for my school. I’m not sure that I’ll have at least ten pictures (I forgot to take some pictures for some shows), but I’m also more than capable of painting. Could my portfolio be a mixture of photographs and and artwork? Could it also include sketches for set designs? Please help a girl out.

Thank you.
