The Stella Adler Studio is one of the most famous actor training programs in the entire world.

Here is a wikipedia article about it:

The article includes a list of famous actors who trained at the studio.

Hi! So, I understand that the Stella Adler studio is one of the best/famous at Tisch and it sounds like an awesome opportunity.

Stella Adler helped bring Stanislavsky’s Method to America. She believed in building an actor’s foundation so that they would be virtually fearless. She also believed that an actor should develop a method that works best for themselves individually. She advocated that an actor should always perform for an idea or purpose that was greater than themselves- to be dogmatically reverent of the art form. If you’re seriously considering going to Tisch, I highly reccomment Stella’s book “The Art of Acting” it’s a great read. I really have heard FABULOUS things about that studio, you should be very proud of yourself!! Best of luck!!

Thanks TheatreFish. Are you a student at Tisch or do you just know about Stella through students/reading about the methods? Your response was very helpful :-)

I just love reading about Methods, Stella’s one of my favorites! I glad I was some help!
