I am considering apply to NYU Tisch Drama as an undergrad for Fall 2014, and given the new and inane(not to mention completely outside of common sense) practice of only having transfer auditions in April(started last year I think), I was wondering if any of those that transferred in this fall, or attempted to do so, could tell me when the acceptance letters actually come. I know the school says mid-May. I am also applying to Juilliard which has a May 1st deposit deadline, so I need to be able to plan everything accordingly. I am an older student(in my 30s), so while I have little time to waste, I am also looking at it from the perspective that strong training can help me in the long run.

The April transfer audition policy, I should also note, does stack the cards against transfers who are applying elsewhere since they may have to make a decision before getting a notification from NYU.

brad-you will have a sense if this is something to be concerned about as you get closer to your NYU audition.

photomom5, this isn’t my first time applying, but will be the first time I actually get to audition, so there is some concern. Juilliard, I will know something on by April and seems to be my first choice by default(though I love the school and the people there…I have never met a warmer group of people…the admin at NYU can be quite cold at times, but I feel that is due in large part to the sheer number of students). At my age, I really don’t have many more chances to do a four year school(since I have to get to work soon, before I get too old to be taken seriously as a beginner), so I am aiming high and hoping for the best.
