Hi guys! I haven’t seen a thread for the TISCH waitlist so I figured I would start one. If anyone has any information on how the waitlist process works, please post! And if you want to put your preferred studio(s), please do!
I read on the waitlist 2024 thread that NYU is still evaluating the kids for the Tisch waitlist…anyone else waitlisted for Dramatic writing???
I’ve seen some people state on here that they have been offered spots from the waitlist for drama. My daughter is waiting to hear about dance. Has anyone been offered a spot for dance off the waitlist yet?
My daughter was accepted to Tisch on Friday for Film & Television!
I have several friends who got in for film and television but haven’t seen anything for dramatic writing. Anybody heard anything from that program?
I received an update email saying that they’ve been filling spots and will let me know more by August 1st. Anyone else receive that? Also I applied to Tisch Drama
I was crawling NYU boards and saw this. How hard was the audition process for drama. I’ve done some semi-professional indie features and even made it to the last round of casting for a pilot this season but am absolutely terrified that I don’t have the chops to get into a good BFA program.
oof, sorry about the punctuation
@FutureOncologist - Tisch Drama auditions are pretty standard - two monologues - and there’s an interview portion. This year auditions will likely be virtual. In the past the in-person audition process was very fun for applicants - the folks who work for Tisch are all artists themselves so they vibe with the auditioners. Tisch is one of the largest drama programs in the country and also one of the best known. Their acceptance rate has traditionally been in the mid-teens. So it’s not easy to get into but nowhere as difficult as the smaller well-known schools. If you think NYU is for you and you want to do a BFA, you have nothing to lose (accept maybe your application fee) in applying.
Awesome! Congrats! My son’s starting the film production program.
