NYU Tisch

Hello, I am interested in applying for NYU school of Tisch. I have a couple questions about the auditions and the school. So, for those of you who are currently a student or alumni please answer. Thanks! :)

I am a strong in dancing and acting but decent at singing. I’m not bad at singing but not like oh my god amazing either. How important is singing to the school? Could I still have a good chance at getting in?

What are the board of directors impressed by? What kind of things look good on your resume?

What kind of questions do they ask you at the audition?

How are the people at NYU? Are they friendly or is everyone very competitive?

Thanks so much!!

just be yourself and have fun and do your best. there’s no set thing they’re impressed by or looking for, just talent and individuality and trainability on a case by case basis.

they just ask you what you’re interested in, and about yourself, to get an idea of where they’d place you.

people are friendly and supportive, it’s awesome. you might run into the occasional competitive person, but they’ll get thrown off as soon as they start training and getting their heart cracked open (in a good way).

Okay thanks! so are u apart of NYU tisch?
