NYU seems to be a hugeeee reach as I see people getting rejected right and left on this site, but here are my stats:
3.4 unweighted gpa 3.57 weighted
I got 3 70’s junior year in physics, amer. history and math b (a new york state thing)-- the only reason why I took physics was b/c my counselor said it would look better on my transcript than earth science… im majoring in journalism…
everything else was 80 and above… except for regents exams (again only a new york state thing)
SAT’s- 1210 (620 math, 590 verbal)
150/597 rank
-advanced english in junior year
-AP Macroecnomics and AP Envrionmental Science senior year. . I am getting 80’s in both AP’s so far, and my senior grades are up from my junior grades…
I dropped pre-calc senior yr b/c i wasn’t doing too well. .the colleges will not see my grade
-Decent Ec’s
– does anyone have any opinions on NYU- (def. an impossible reach right?)… how about fordham and northeastern- still reaches? … quinnipiac I feel secure about- can anyone give me good safety options? thanks

bump anyone

You will never know until you try.......if you're rejected at least you won't have to regret never applying and at least giving it a try....

I applied to Fordham as my safety school as well as NYU, but I was rejected from NYU and got into Fordham. I was also accpeted to Cornell, so go figure...

wow spn.. do you think I'm good enough for fordham though?

I think you probably have a shot at Fordham, but don't use it as your safety school. I got the following stats from the Princeton Review (review.com). The only area you are a little below is your GPA, but your weighted GPA is pretty close. It is a tough call. Show them you are really into the school by spending a lot of time on your essay and really perfecting it. Sorry I couldn't be more help, its been a while since I applied to Fordham.

Fordham Freshmen Academic Profile

thanks alot for that spn.. it really helps- yeah I'm def. not using it as my safety though lol.. does anyone else have an opinion?- thanks

bump.. anyone
