NYU Transfer Fall 2019

@jakecap1123 would you mind sharing a bit of info, like when you submitted your documents and what letter your last name starts with?

@Chrzaval Submitted my application in mid-February, accepted on May 2, last name starts with C.

 hey was just wondering, in general, would you receive an email before you see if you were accepted or not?

@eniracunamakiotu I recommend you take a look through the discussion, this has been discussed a few times already. But to answer your question, there is no definite answer if you will receive the email before or not.

If you look back through the last couple pages, you will see that most people see portal changes (because we are compulsively checking  ) before any email comes through.

Thank you  @McDrew123

I just applied to nyu for fun. If I get accepted, I don’t know if i will be able to attend. i have to have my own successful startup, raise money and then pay for NYU. Chances of getting accepted and paying is 0.01%

Hi long time lurker. I was accepted to NYU Steinhardt May 16.
My stats are:
Transferring as a Sophomore from a top 50 private university ( just finished my freshman year), White female.

Highschool GPA: 3.5
College GPA: 4.0

ACT: 27

Saw no portal changes( at least i wasn’t aware of any). Got the email around 4 pm w my admissions decision

Hey guys! I was wondering if anyone on this thread has heard back from MCC? The last time someone posted on this thread that had heard their decision was like May 2nd… Anxiously waiting, hopefully they send out the rest of decisions this Thursday!

i’ve been a longtime lurker but haven’t posted on here yet! I’m applying to Steinhardt MCC as a rising junior with preference to start in NY. I had applied last year (it was a crazy experience because I decided I wanted to try to apply only one week before the deadline) - clearly that didn’t work out, so I’m trying again this time with a better application, I feel I’ve definitely improved my qualifications and submitted a better application!

POC female transferring from a top 50 public university
College GPA: 3.7
High School GPA: 3.83 (top high school in my state)
Didn’t submit SAT scores

Extracurriculars:

  • Marketing internship with local theatre company
  • Communications internship with local film center
  • Social Media Coordinator of the undergraduate theater club
  • Acted in 3 college theater productions
  • Regular film reviewer for my university’s film club
  • 15/hr per week retail job

Thought my essays and recommendations were pretty decent and showed my passion for entertainment marketing, so fingers crossed. I got rejected from Barnard last month but still holding out hope for NYU. You never know what the admissions staff is looking for!!

i applied to mcc and i dont remember which preference i chose - i think ny - but i also said id be okay with paris as well. i highly doubt ill get accepted, and even if i do, i probably wont attend. i also had a change of heart and would rather be studying psychology or tv production/film so again, mcc is probably not what i want but depending on if i get accepted/the price of tuition i guess ill see what happens.

Hi, long time lurker here. I was accepted to CAS around early May as Math major. I’m an international student. I couldn’t find a transfer facebook group and I know that NYU is notorious for being a lonely place so I made a GroupMe so that we can all get to know each other

@MoNguyen I’d love to join the group, DM me the details whenever you have time.

@jw8001 Hi, I’m a new member so I don’t think I can PM you. Can you DM me?

@jw8001 I also post it on the NYU reddit. Maybe that will be easier to navigate

@MoNguyen Wanna join the group! Also an international CAS math major here

Hi. I also created a Facebook group for us transfers since it might be more accessible for others. Feel free to join! The name of the group is “NYU Transfers Fall 2019”

Hello! I applied to CAS on April 1st, still waiting. I applied to the Environmental Studies program. I’ve only seen CAS CS majors on here, so I was wondering if there were any other Enviro major applicants on here? If so, have you heard back?

Hello did you guys notice any changes before you are accepted? I remember the housing portal changed for those who were accepted when they applied in the senior year. It will help me a lot since I am going to apply in a few months as a spring transfer.

have any accepted students gotten anything in the mail from NYU as first-year students get? Also, is there a thread here for students accepted with stats?

@loverose4565 It’ll vary from person to person. Some people saw a few changes before they got accepted such as a transfer credit report appearing or change in their financial aid year. Others, like me, didn’t notice a change like those. I don’t know about everybody else, but I saw that my applicant portal changed from all the required documents to just my name on the day I was accepted. So it’ll be random, don’t sweat it too much if you don’t see any changes.
