NYU transfer for next year?

I'm thinking of Stern, but then again I just want to get out of Tech so I may just apply to CAS. My hs gpa was around 3.5 or may be higher (can't remember) and my sat score was 1270 and my sat 2 grades were writing 610, math 2c 780, physics 570. My e.c in hs was mostly school clubs and hs golf, i placed top in the states many times and was ranked. I did not get off to a good start in the first semester here at Georgia Tech but I am commited to do better next semester. I dropped out of a class so Im looking at only 10 credits in the fall semester. i will probably sign up for 18 ish or so credits for spring. I will go to summer school too. What do you think I need to do to get into stern or just nyu. My best chances and the things taht i have to do... Im a mangement major here at georgia tech and my home is in NJ. Thanks

i would appreciate if someone were to comment on this or should i post this some where else

My friends brother got into NYU as a transfer from University of Florida with similar high school stats that you have(higher GPA). If you just do well at tech you will probably be in. Maybe even take the New Sat again.

Really? I didn't know college students could take the SATs again. I guess the two things that I have going for me (comparing with your brother) is that I am from NJ and that I am transferring from Tech. But is it recommended to take the SAT again. Crap...

get > than 3.8 for stern or greater than 3.6 for CAS (for your college gpa) and you should make it as a transfer. apply after you have more than 40 credits with that kind of gpa. Don't worry about SAT as long as u apply w/ alot of credits. I got in to stern with a 1250 SAT and 3.84 GPA at 48 credits

IC so u applied as a spring semester 22nd year or fall?

I applied for fall 05

wow nice work but i didnt get any credits from high school. I am going to apply for spring semester 07. I will have around 35ish credits. Is that enough?

I am applying as a transfer student to NYU for the Fall 2006 semester. Just so you know, NYU will not take the results of any standardized tests taken after you were enrolled in college. You can retake the test (anyone is eligible to take the test), but they will refuse to look at it.

college girl, where are u transfering from? Im actually thinking of staying here at Tech for fall 2006 and apply to columbia or brown or upenn for spring semester

Well, I am taking a leave of absence right now from Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York (Long Island) and taking classes and doing research at Georgia State University

If you really want stern you should apply directly to stern because stern will not allow you to apply there if you are have transferred into another division of NYU .

Short version, if you transfer into CAS, you will not be able to transfer into Stern
