NYU Transfer for Spring 2013

@ohmymarc
I submitted it without them asking. By the way I am also an international student form Spain, I also did the IB and I’m currently at PSU UP. I wish I get those checkmarks asap… I’m thinking about calling them but I do not want to sound desperate lol to which school within NYU are you applying?

@Tomeu

Applying to CAS. Applied for International Relations which is an honors major… sheesh. You can only apply to IR after being accepted, so I would assume I would be admitted to Politics or something of the like. That is… IF I get admitted!

oh, but you will be admitted! With that GPA if you do not get in I do not get in!! So I’m cheering for you as well now hahaha

Does anyone know if the school you’re at affects admission at all? Cause I mean, a 3.92 at PSU or Emmanuel should definitely be worth more than a 3.92 at a CC. Hope Im not offending anyone who goes to CC, but its definitely the truth.

I think they do take into consideration the institution you are at in regards to your GPA, I have a 3.85 from PSU and it is only like 14 spots behind NYU in many ranks. However, a 4.0 at a CC also looks reaally good on a transcript.

@supercolosall I seem to recall you are a freshman, am I right? If so, you HS GPA will probably be much more important than your college GPA.

word got a 4.1 in that area so not the worst thing that could happen. Submitted my midterm report went down from a 3.8 to a 3.6 after my last test. Oh well, fingers crossed! Never applied to NYU before this so we’ll see what happens. Stayed with my friend there a couple months ago and I can’t believe anyone would want to go anywhere else. Its legit

Nice, good luck. It is already mid-november although I don’t responses will come out next week… Perhaps on the 27th some of us will hear!

i think its possible we’ll hear next week. NYU doesn’t close until Thursday so maybe some people may hear before then.

Decisions only go out on Tuesday and Thursday, so if you don’t hear by next Tuesday, the 27th is the earliest date you can expect to hear by.

Personally, my guess would be first week of December. (Applied to NYU twice before, both times received decision 18 days after the day they said they would start sending them out).

@Tomeu is right @Supercolosal! I didn’t know this was your first semester. They will definitely be looking mainly at high school grades. I hope 1.5 years is enough to hopefully erase that ugly 2.9 on my transcript!

As for rigor, I think that’s a pretty obvious factor in the admission process anywhere. A 4.0 at a CC or top-tier university are both fantastic, but the rigor at the university is greater. Just some logic guys!

Just read the rest of the thread. Putting a date on an admissions decision is making me so much more anxious! I was at peace before, not knowing when I would hear from NYU. Now, the countdown begins. Oh the anxiety.

I’ve been anxious since I submitted my app, they don’t even seem to have my HS transcripts yet!!! I think I’m just going to chill for this thanksgiving week, I hope to hear good news from you all soon!!!

Did anyone have transfer credits come up yet? Especially those people who got a midterm request.

For some people, their transfer credits came up before they were accepted last time.

Nah, all I heard is that if we have any missing materials from our application we will be notified early next week

All checked off as of this afternoon

@Giantmidget
Mine says no transfer credit still :(

My financial aid page has changed! The year and college are now there, but I cannot see the award (of course). It says “award access unavailable.”

Also, at the bottom it says:

“Select the appropriate aid year above to view your award information. If the aid year is not activated, your award information has yet to be determined.”

Similar to anyone else!?!

Dammit, am I the only one whose transcripts from high school are misplaced?
@ohmymarc, I have t applied for FA but I have something similar to yours, maybe it’s nothing… Or maybe you are in!! :)

@ohmymarc, I got the same thing, cant tell if it is new or not because I hadn’t really bothered to look at that section. Hopefully a good sign for both of us.

It’s nothing. I’ve had the same thing since I’ve had an Albert account.
