I am an international junior transfer student. I just got an email from Melissa Benski. She request a 30-45 casual interview with me. I wonder if anybody else receive this email. Are the interview request just for international students?
Also, does anyone have interview experience? How should I prepare for it?
Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated!!-)
I haven’t really heard of anyone applying to the NYC campus being asked for an interview, so they’re probably really interested in you, although it might indeed have to do with you being an international transfer which isn’t too common (maybe more so from your country.)
I’d think that as long as the interview goes well, you should get in. And my suggestion would be to dress/look nice/casual, and treat it for what it is - a conversation. Good luck!
How was your interview? I’m also an international transfer student and just got an interview request!! I would appreciate if you could give me some advise
@beckleiiii I just did the interview today.
It might last 20 minutes.
I was asked several questions:
- why major
- why transfer? why NYU?
- Is the essay written by you? What 's your common application essay about?
- what’s your biggest difficulty in the college?
And she asked me to write a paragraph in 5 minutes:
What events have shaped the person you are today?
Hope this helps. And better to prepare some questions to ask.
Thanks a lot!!! And good luck on your application :-*
