NYU Transfer Thread - Fall 2010

Trynatransfer, when did you submit your application by?

I responded by message, but I’ll just post it again here in case it helps anyone: I submitted my application around March 20th, but my rec’s were definitely not postmarked until April 1st – in fact, I think one of my rec’s was even postmarked later then that, around April 5th. Hope this sheds some light!

Trynatransfer, do you get your decision through envelope? If it is, is the envelope a Big size or just a thin one?

Guys, I could see that NYU is not doing rolling decision. A few accepted submitted at the end of March.

Well I actually found out in a bizarre way, which is probably not how most people will find out/have found out. I guess some wires got crossed, because I got a letter from the financial aid office first, welcoming me to the NYU community and giving me the phone numbers of various people to call to discuss my financial choices with. (I do not qualify for aid, so I didn’t even apply. It was weird.) Obviously I was quite confused when I got this letter before even being accepted, so I called the admissions office and the woman informed me that a decision had been made for me and would be mailed shortly. I replied with ‘but you can’t tell me what the decision is over the phone, can you.’ And she said ‘well no…but it is very much in the same vein as that financial letter.’ Two days after that, I got a LARGE ENVELOPE in the mail. So yeah, keep a lookout for a big envelope.

i called stern today to inquire as to what a possible reason of me being rejected was and they said that they recieved record numbers of applicants this year. somewhere around 6500 for all the schools and sterns acceptance rate was about 8%.

8% for Stern? ■■■

yea it sucks

that is a REALLY bad news to hear at this point of time.

Hope good news tommorrow

■■■. i feel the rejection coming.

I got my acceptance letter last week from NYU. I guess it was Thursday. My major is Economics. Hope you all get into this school.

Whew, finally got around calling the admissions office to check on my app.
Everything is in & they told me that decisions should be out anyday now.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHH @unconditional did you get into Stern or CAS

I am sooo jealous.
I need to get in. Im not even kidding. Argh.
Also, I cannot believe they received record number of applications. Psh

@seriouslyd It is CAS. I thought Econ is only under CAS, am I wrong? I didn’t even dare to apply to Stern. According to the school, they accepted only one student from a community college last year. Only freakin one student.

Stern ans CAS both have Econ

Has anybody tried the netID thing? Just curious…

Good luck everyone! My application is FINALLY complete but they didn’t let me know when I’d be hearing. The NYU transfer admissions forum says May 1st (written by someone in admissions, so not some random person making this up) so hopefully we’ll all know by early next week!

Don’t tell me accepentce goes first, and all the rest is rejection.

Javeb/ I read another thread. it said even though admitted students can’t activate some case, so it’s not reliable

:O …

I feel no hope inside right now…
